Hi everybody, long time lurker - first time poster. I decided to make an account to settle this once and for all - hopefully.
I purchased an older Schwinn hybrid road bike and the owner did not know anything about the frame (year, model, etc.) only that it was originally black and he had stripped it down to bare metal and primered it and rattle-canned it black. I went out and sanded down to the serial number so that I might have some sort of idea, and I found "
SIL 10022" under the crankcase.

It's not a super pricey setup in any way shape or form. Biopace chainring, Michelin road tires, ugly beat-up rims, etc. I use it for commuting to work (roughly 2 miles round trip
) and the occasional ride to my parent's place about 10 miles away. I want to do a single speed conversion one of these days, but I'd like to figure out what exactly I have first.
