It should be obvious if your shoes can handle the larger, three-bolt LOOK-style cleat. If the shoes have a recessed cleat area, then it is "MTB"-specific (2-hole). Generally speaking, "road" shoes can be used with either; "MTB" shoes are for "MTB" only.
