I've seen a couple of riders with them, They seem like they might be useful if you are attempting a century without any stops but otherwise unless you are in the dead of winter the fluids in your last 2 bottles will be boiling by the time you get to them, even if you have polar bottles.

I'd say just plan your routes to a gas station and fill up there and don't bother with those cages.
