Yes, there is more technology than before, no, relative to other international motorsports it is not that impressive. It's essentially spec racing, and the demand son the cars are no where near other formulas. On most tracks, they don't even brake or use gears once out of the pits. The oldest F1 driver is almost the youngest NASCAR driver. It's tuned for TV audiences with short attention spans (i.e.FOX sports), it is WAY over exposed and I'm one of many who is sick of it.
