epididymitis! That can lay you up for a *very* log time

It can also be a chronic, persistant condition, which is common with many testicular injuries (and presumably surgeries, given that a surgery is a form of controlled injury). Also, hopefully the surgeon got the "wire bias" correct -- you really *don't* want to have testicular tortion. Really, given the fact that you probably don't need any (more) children, infertility is no longer an issue -- you're essentially fixed. Just be *very* aware of any kind of persistant pain. Strangely enough, driving a car for long distances seems to exacerbate the (testicular) pain more than biking does...
