Can one replace the trigger shifters with twisters?

Does it perform well enough on packed dirt or fire roads or curbs/potholes?
VERY well. If you're really concerned about handling in dirt, just get CX tires for it. but I ride it over dirt trails all the time with the OEM Kenda Kwest tires, and it's absolutely fine.
