I'm also looking for some new brake levers, preferably with "gum" colored hoods, but not really looking to shell out for the Cane Creek ones.

Is there anything I'm missing? Are there better options out there for these items?

Thanks in advance!

There isn't much that needs to be changed. Original components should be reliable and last a long time.

The one big improvement you can make is to switch to aluminum alloy rims (or maybe the whole wheel to keep it simple). They will make the ride a lot faster and the braking will be hugely better.

The next thing to change is the saddle, unless you like the one you have now.
