The slamming was more along the lines that bents are not real bikes and thier riders are old, crippled and cant ride without wobbleing etc...BTW I'm 46 and no physical problems with either ride choice, I just like my bent better. However, if a bent allowes someone to ride who otherwise couldn't I'm all for it. Then I hear how bent riders act all superior when in fact that is not true at all. Still looking for those examples I asked for 2 post earlier...
