[QUOTE=umd;7431192]Numbers don't compute. You rode only 1000 miles, which includes a 200 mile race and "many" 100 mile days. What is many? If we say, for the sake of argument, 5, that only leaves 300 miles of "other" riding. Not much to get a base or experience. As far as your average speed, if you can do the same speed over 200 miles as you can over 20, it means that you aren't pushing yourself hard enough when you ride 20. If you ride at the same effort as when you ride 200, of course you won't be any faster. If you finish your 20 miles and ask yourself, "could I do another 20?", and the answer is "yes", then you could have ridden faster.
