Handlebar Width - suggested vs actual running width...

Searched on this topic and came up empty handed.... Been trying to measure my shoulders and I think I've come up with the correct measurement but it seems narrow. When measuring, I've read you're supposed to measure bump to bump on your shoulders and then add 2cm. Are the bumps folks refer to the one with the arrow pointing at it below?

I measure roughly 17" bump to bump so I'd be looking at 45cm bars((17in*2.54cm)+2cm) center to center? I am 6'5" and have wider shoulders so maybe this is my bar size... just seems on the large side from what I see available out there.

What is your suggested bar width and what actual width do you run on your bike?
