That doesn't fix anything. Sure, it allows the cassette to be removed and installed more easily, but the wear will continue, and eventually some cogs will rotate ahead of others, and shift quality will be compromised as the Hyperglide ramps and bevels no longer align properly.

Burnishing at least keeps the material in the spline, and you can fill in the notching somewhat. It's hard work, but it's a better temporary repair.
