I learned several valuable lessons today about riding in the rain.

Five, the paint used for crosswalk hash marks is REALLY SLIPPERY when it's wet. Fishtailing is scary enough when you've got four wheels!
Lessons learned. I found a space in the back room to dry my clothes though, so it's not all bad. The only unfortunate thing about the commute is that it's only five miles, so I'm barely getting warmed up by the time it's done. Hardly even qualifies as exercise, especially considering the donuts I ate after getting here. Ugh!
congrats! everyone makes noob mistakes. put one of those big Ziplocs inside your backpack as a stopgap measure, even if your pack fails, your gear stays dry! search the forums, you'll get good info, find out what works best for you.
