Part of the DERAILLEUR snapped [56k warning]

Hi

After squeezing my bike (Saracen vice 7002 aluminum) into the back of my car the gears have not been functioning correctly. I managed to fix the front gears by tightening the cable as seen in some videos (in the links from stickys)

I then got to the back gear which is meant to have 7 except 1st year is actually gear 3 and 7th is gear 4 So I spent a long time trying to tighten it like the front gear but with no luck. I then noticed that a part had snapped. I have taken pictures and just wondered if anyone would point me in the right direction of what I need to buy. Or weather a LBS would be better? and how much such a job should cost me. From my web searchs the only parts are as about as expensive as the bike

i have taken some pics, I have tried to use a hat (from my phones photo thing) to point towards the fault. The plastic seems to have just snapped.

THANK YOU for any help
Ben
