Did you do any work on the decals? Earlier pics seem to show them intact. Also, is the number 73 stamped into the seat tube cluster? If I recall correctly your Legnano was an early 70's Gran Premio which you were trying to determine the exact year of manufacture. Anyway you've done a superb job with your Legnano.
Thanks so much, Retyred!
I caved on the headbadge -

I kept the head tube decal on wax backing, but just couldn't resist. I applied the brass headbadge with silicone and it has held up fine. The decals got nothing but Mother's wax, but one of them is peeling a little at the bottom. I am going to try to fix this with a hair-dryer, but have hesitated because I don't want to make it worse.
The only other somewhat sketchy modification I did was to paint the logo on the ttt legnano stem I got on ebay. It came badly (I thought anyway) painted black in the relief part, so I stripped the paint and painted it metallic red and white to match the decals. I also sprang for those gaslo-legnano bar plugs that I was coveting (you can't see them in the picture). I remember when they came in the mail and my wife asked what they were, I said "Oh just some little things for the handlebars...". If she ever finds out I spent $100 on them I will have some exlpaining to do (assuming there is a reasonable explanaition out there somewhere, which is dubious). The number on the seat-tube is actually a 13, confirming I guess that it is a '73.
I am assuming it is Falck tubing, because there is no other tubing decals on it. There have been a couple of threads on Falck tubing and I have been curious myself (seamed or not, etc.) I can tell you that built up the way you see it is 22lb even, so seamed or not it is pretty light and rides very well.
Anyways thanks again for your help!
