I went the modular route from the begining, first it was bivy and small tent, or tarp, now it is hammock. I'm not sold on the Hammock and it might be different if I wasn't borderline on size. On the other hand, I love the set-up options and it's a better solution when I have timber camping terrain. I know there are people out there who can talk themselves into a nice campsite every night they might need to, so I do at times wonder if stealth isn't a social choice as much as anything.
