Retired Tree Climber

Hi
We used to do this just for fun as kids. I didn't outgrow it until I had major back surgery in my mid thirties. [Due to a landscaping work related injury.]

I don't recommend it without gear. We would get to the top of a fir or other "flexible" tree and "swing" back and forth. Then got older and a bit wiser and climbed with safety belts et al.

Used to love to get as high [in trees] as I could. Great view of the Earth! Reminds us how small we really are. Climbing a tall tree on the side of a mountain and looking over the terrain is amazing! Just watch out for hawks and eagles!

As a thanks to the "tree gods" I was involved in planting some thousands of seedlings over the years. I am experimenting with growing Giant Sequoias here in MA. I'm told that they will grow in all 50 states. Main concerns are steady water supply and good drainage. So I stay grounded these days.

Riding my first street bike and by coincidence it is a Specialized Sequoia.

Know where I can get really tough, durable tires for it? Something perhaps made of ballistic kevlar and titanium??? Ha! Had four flats this past month.

Safe Riding!
