Double butted Tange tubing was used for the MB-6, whereas in the MB-1, B'stone used Ritchey Logic. I think you've got a good quality bike worth putting back on the trails or the road. Possibly a good approach could be something like this MB-1 (sorry, I borrowed the pic from anothe forum):
