Get out your video camera, put the bike on the curb, and wait with 911 dialed in and wait to hit "send" on your cell phone. When the obvious happens, report it stolen, then tell the suspect, "look, I'm a nice guy, $50 and you can buy it, we'll forget the whole thing." The police won't have to write a report, the guy gets the bike, and you get $50.
