From my experiences working in a LBS and being around your age my advice:
1. Don't be afraid to ask stupid questions (seriously)
2. If you're with a customer and don't know the product info...do your best to make yourself sound smart.

Trust me, you'll feel like an idiot sometimes but everyone has to start somewhere...you'll get the hang of it.
