I can say they're good on single track. SoCal has very hard pack ground with dusty ball-bearings sprinkled on top, with ruts and rocks thrown in too. These tires handle that well, and have good grip for muscling up steep climbs. They're not great for fast turns on pavement... I've had a few close calls where they broke loose; I think it's the slight gap between the knobs in the center and the outside.
I also ride with Vittoria Cross EVO XN clinchers, and in comparison these are harder, a bit less supple, and better on technical climbs. The Vittorias corner fast better and have ridiculous grip on grass and softer ground. The Vittorias are overall better, but you definitely pay for the difference.
thanks for the info. seems like they'd do well for most of the races around here.
gorgeous bike, btw.
