I'd say the T is worse than driving these days, by a good long chalk. I had to take the T a couple days ago, and it was just plain wretched. In the time it took me to get from Packard's Corner to St. E's, I could have ridden my bike from St. E's to downtown and back. Sad.
Just yesterday I made it from Berkley St. to Packards corner in the evening rush hour in about ten minutes (yes I timed myself)
That trip's about 30 minutes on the T, assuming everything goes well.
P.S. I caught all green lights along the way, except one, and the traffic in Kenmore was unusually light for that time of day. That's how I was able to make such good time.
