I have no idea how you define a "commuter". I ride to work 5 days a week. I often live and work elsewhere in the summer months (often NYC) and ride daily to wherever I am working in that city. It seems we are not quite on the same schedule.

Actually I'm quite familiar with it and, as I said, avoid the bike path at that time.

I've ridden on it pretty much every week day at least one way of my commute since I returned to Boston at the end of August. In addition to having ridden on it under all kinds of conditions over my last 28 years of living in and bike commuting in the Boston area. So I am very familiar with how bad it can be and how frustrating it can be to be on it at those times.

different strokes for different folks. I'm not suggesting you avoid it- I'm simply saying that I do.

I must say, however, I do disagree with your assertion that one doesn't see drunk drivers behind the wheel these days. I would conjecture that many of the drivers leaving the Fenway park area are somewhat impaired to say the least. But I can agree to disagree.

I, too, am a commuter and on my way to work. I just happen to find the biking to work part to be a pleasurable experience and seek to make it as pleasant as possible.

yeah, the T can be frustrating and slower than the bike at times. I so seldom drive downtown I really couldn't give you an honest comparison- I just see all those drivers sitting there on Storrow Drive as I ride by on the bike path taking in all that scenery.
