My LBS got back to me today about my bike. They say they will replace the crank set with an Ultegra free of charge. The LBS owner went on and on about Treks rigorous product testing and that breaks like this are extremely rare. Trek said also, because I am a good customer, they will throw in a free jersey. I wonder what jersey they will send me.
Hopefully a bulletproof one with matching socks...
The other evening a glass I was washing shattered. I had my hand inside, and when part of the side fell off, my hand went out the void and one edge sliced my hand up...6 hours in the ER for 13 stitches to hold a 1"by1" flap of skin on the knuckle over myright pinky finger... I kind of wish I had a cooler story to tell.
