The same exact thing happened to a group ride in Australia a couple of months back. There were two prospective track Olympians who went down when some idiot pulled in front of them, slammed on the brakes, causing several of them to hit his car and many more to go down in the resulting pileup.

Someone has tried to do this to me, too, but luckily they were in an old SUV with worn out brakes.
