Yeah, the bridge has been 100% made of patches since I've lived here (15 years this week). They didn't fix it for many years because its foundation was a dam that was also falling apart, and nobody knew who owned the property or the dam. Finally the state had to declare eminent domain to start work. They tore the dam out, the manmade wetlands upstream have now drained and the river is narrower and faster, in a few years I suspect it'll be a very pretty river. The bridge was one-way for a couple of months, which put me on gravel roads during which time I broke several parts of my bike including an axle. It's now 2 narrow lanes while they put in the 2nd half of the foundation and finish later with a full width bridge, I assume it'll have sidewalks that are big enough to fish off of since people used to do that.
