While the bike you are looking at does have narrow 700c wheels, a true road bike would probably be lighter with different frame geometry (a horizontal top tube), in addition to the drop bars, of course. I can see a place for a rack, but I don't see fender eyelets in the font, but perhaps they are there and I can't see them in the picture. In my opinion, fenders are a must for my commuter bike. My commuter bike has flat bars, and I think they are uncomfortable over long distances because my palms have to be perpendicular to my arms. I think drop bars with hands on the brake hoods or putting on bar ends would be more comfortable.

And does anybody else hate when a bike description only gives the frame weight? It is very common--I want to know what the entire bike weighs.
