I slather 'em with Teflon bicycle grease before I put 'em in and tighten 'em down. Then, once a year or so, I pull the quill out and clean it and re-grease it. Never had a problem with my bikes having a stuck stem. But...Lordy! I've worked on some where I was ready to use explosives to get 'em out of there.
