I can't speak for everyone who has low saddles, but I can't manage to mount the bike as 'normal' folks do without falling. I have to be on the saddle before the first downstroke. So I need at least one foot to be touching the ground. I wonder how much of the low saddle craze you are seeing is due to inability, for whatever reason, to mount a bike 'correctly?"
Tragic ain't it, that you can't be "normal" and mount your bike "correctly" like the experts, eh? You'll never earn your Real Bicyclist™ Merit Badge until you man up like the OP and a few other of the shocked, shocked posters.

BTW, is that the Falls River Bridge near Ridge Ave and the River Drives? If so, looks like it changed colors to match the Strawberry Mansion Bridge? Attached is a picture of another "low rider" in front of the SM bridge. I managed to control myself and not yell at her to raise the seat, she, and more importantly her boyfriend, may not have welcomed my warnings about her tragic seat height.
