Update:

For your amusement and mine I did a another test ride today. This time I pedaled lightly to work. Pedaling my time went down to 19:41. Not that much faster. Once the bike hits 36kph on the flats gaining extra speed is much much much more difficult then on a lightweight high performance bike which this one was before the conversion. The ride home is a different story. Wow. Usually it takes 7 or 8 mins longer for me to get home on my non-assited bike. The last 5km is all gradual uphill. My time home was 20:17. Less than a minute slower then it takes to get to work with my ebike. I was riding around a 1kph maybe 2 slower uphill then I was doing on the flats. I'm impressed.

Having a hoot.
