Bikes: Surly Crosscheck Single Speed, Novara 9 speed commuter/runabout

I believe I scored... what do you think?

So I rode down to the local REI store to visit a buddy and they had a parking lot sale going on. Right away I spotted a K2 cyclocross bike sitting there. It had 9 speed Shimano 105 shift/brake levers & rear derailleur, Truvativ EXP crank, carbon fork and seatpost. Nice bike... on sale for $499. Initially I wrote it off, thinking the last thing I needed to bring home right now was another bike. I even told a couple guys who were checking it out that I thought it was indeed a decent deal.

Long story short: No one could pull the trigger that day. I went to lunch, came back and they were packing the parking lot sale away. At the last minute I told the manager I would give him $300 for the bike... just so he wouldn't have to roll it back into the store. He laughed and said "Sir, that just isn't going to happen. But, I'll take $399.

Just finished putting some 35cm street tires and a rack on it. It feels like it weighs 5 lbs less than my SS Crosscheck. I'll be rockin' it to work tomorrow.
