Chromoly steel means that the steel mixture has chromium and molybdenum added to it to give it corrosive resistance. The amount of chrome added to chromoly is such a small amount that you would barely even be able to tell a difference between it and regular old carbon steel, if at all. If you polished it it would just look like those park bathroom polished steel mirrors, definitely not as shiny as chrome plating.
