Got ready to leave yesterday morning, and my front tire was flat. I started to fix it but didn't have time, so I ended up driving. Bummer, but I operate on a pretty tight schedule in the mornings and generally don't have time for repairs. The bike was fine the day before, so it must have had a slow leak.

Repaired the leak yesterday after I got home from work, and decided that I need a new set of tires with winter approaching. I've got some Panaracer Paselas with lots of miles left on them that I could just slap on, but I don't like them. Their rolling resistance is very high, and they are so large that they rub my fenders if everything isn't just right. Thinking about trying some new Continental GP4000s with reflective sidewalls that I saw on the net for a good price. The added visibility would be nice and I'm sure they would roll much better than the Paselas.

the ride into work today was nice. Temps in the low 60s with a stiff NE wind, which meant I had a tailwind much of the way. That will make the ride home more difficult, but at least it won't be hot. It is dark now for about 2/3 of my morning commute, so that means it will be sometime next May before my morning ride is in daylight again. Comforting thought.
