A bit of trivia. There was a collection released maybe ten years ago of Cream material. It was titled "Those Were The Days." OK, the trivia. The liner notes talk about Clapton and his displeasure with the trad arrangement of Lawdy Mama. So he says to Pete Brown, "Take this home and fix it." Pete brings it back to the studio the next session (next day.) Low and behold, he had twisted it into "Strange Brew," 'first tune on 'DG.' The "Days" collection also has a take of Cream working out Lawdy Mama on it. The notes also straighten out the origin of the material on the live stuff on Wheels. I haven't seen the set in a long time. 'Can't remember where it went.

Oh yeah, "Those Were The Days" was released in 1997.
Here's the wiki info.
