No one has to say anything to come across as egotistical. People will perceive it by the way someone acts, or portrays themselves. I'm sure a lot of messengers are nice and real and are doing their job so they can survive just as there are doctors who do the same thing. But you're living in a bubble if you don't think their are messengers/doctors who do it for the status or the cool factor or money/prestige in a doctor's case.

And ya, even though it is the internet, grammar, spelling and punctuation go a long way in helping get your point across.
