hahah yah I'm worried about the whole rusting thing so I really feel it is necessary to paint it. Don't get me wrong I love the whole beat up street fighter look but I have to take care of this one, it's been good to me.
No need to powdercoat to keep that frame from rusting, especially if you like its character marks. I'd rather see a bike (or anything, really) used but loved, rather than being kept in closet-perfect condition because it's never touched. Give that frame a good coat of clearcoat -- or flat, if that's your thing -- and you're good to go.
Edit: But then again, if your paint isn't holding on so well in the first place, a topcoat will probably just flake away as the base layer does. hmm... Maybe powdercoating is
the better option. Your call...
