The manufacturers web site has a little more detail, and even a few more colors than REI has. The multicolored one might be pretty cool.

Yes. But in reality they are cheap and not that noticeable so I would not take them out. I guess if someone saw you riding them and then immediately you stopped and left the bike unattended it might be an issue.
