Living in Houston Texas and the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, (we still have no power, no water, and no riding at this point. Not complaining just trying to paint a picture of what’s up). I was working in the house the other day and went to move by bike (Colnago Master with chrome lugs), when I noticed small rust spots on the lugs. This has never happened before. After each ride, I wipe her down and keep her clean. I guess with the power out and the windows being open all the time the humidity has allowed enough moisture to affect the chrome. That said what do I need to do to remove this before it becomes any worse. I know good old hard work will be a part of the plan but is there a product you can recommend or is there some other thing I should be applying or doing to both remove the rust and or prevent it from happening until the power is restored and the bike once again is resting in air-conditioned comfort.
