I'm looking for a indoor training tool that offers:
1. Realistic road feel
2. Resistance
3. Out of saddle riding
4. Minimal attention requirement while riding
I'm down to the $800 emotion rollers or building a free ride based on this:

Say I get $300+ Kreitlers, $100 for the C channels for the frame, $100 for what ever parts, hardware, and tools I may need, and another $100 for a mag unit, I'm up to over $600 for something of similar quality. There's always the option to go cheap as well (rusty basement rollers, wood frame, parts from a rummage sale razor, etc.)
I know it's a long shot but by question is directed to like, 3 people here who went the homebrew route.
Would you do it over?
If you had the money, would you just go ahead and drop it on the inside ride?
