Earlier this year built a set of wheels with Escapes, then more recently built up a wheel with Kinlin TB25. There was no comparison between the two. The Velocity Escape is good and will build a good wheel, weight is hit or miss, not always round or flat, just takes a bit more time to build right. Kinlin was magnificent, weight was good, rim was flat and round, went to tension easily, some of the best rims I have ever built wheels with. Haven't ridden them yet because they are for an as yet unbuilt bike.

I would seriously consider the Kinlin tubulars before I would buy another set of Escapes.

I should add that the Escapes were built to look a bit old school, while still being modern. Front 1X silver DT Revolutions 24 spoke, Rear 2x/3x silver DT Competitions DS/Revolutions NDS 28 spoke.
