EDIT: 1981, not 1982!

I'm not fishing. My parents owned a near-mint orange Miyata 912 (with Shimano 600 EX group, Araya rims) which they were going to give to Goodwill -- I said drop it off at local bike shop, have them ship to me, and I'll pay for that. FedEx bent one of the fork blades, and as part of the claims process, they want me to verify the original cost of the bike -- stupid, I know, but there it is. Shipment was insured for $500, and I have no idea what repair/replacement will cost, but I'll soon find out.

And no, I didn't plan to sell it on eBay, but to build a nice road bike for my spouse. Can't start on that this rainy weekend I guess.

Anybody got a receipt for such a bike in their records, or a pricelist that would tell the original cost? It's actually a 1981 bike, apparently, not an '82 as I said in the subject line.
