Absolute nonsense. WD40 has plenty of good uses on a bike. Putting on rubber grips, however, isn't one of them. Unless you like when they slip off at inopportune times.
have you ever tried it? i was skeptical at first, but then i tried it. it evaporates in a few minutes and sticks like glue. weird, but it works. my grips never slip or throttle. i think it works because it clears moisture out from under your grip (that's what WD stands for- "water distplacement formula number forty).
