After about 50 years of watching TV sports I am MUCH more selective about watching these days. I share the concerns about the crass materialism and player character that others have expressed and am also put off by the rampant jock worship that seems so predominant in the media here in Nebraska. That said, I still enjoy an evening baseball game and a few college football games here and there. I just can't pretend that it means very much anymore. In sum: there are few sports events that would prevent me from riding when I'm feeling good and the weather is decent.
