just you, a bike, and the open road. it's quite the liberating feeling!
(although i do sometimes use a watch to at least know what time it is, i'm not a total luddite)
i find that for long rides it's actually nice not to know exactly how much more road you've got to cover. lately i just figure that i've got X amount of hours left before i hit such and such turn. so far, so good.
anyone else ride sans-gizmo?
I have never owned a bicycle computer or a HRM or PT .... I have enough self loathing without help from them. I dont need any help telling myself Im slow and fat. I certainly dont need any data contradicting my evaluation that Im thin and fast however infrequent that might be.
