) And you're 100% correct, my 7200 will never be a road bike so I won't try to make it one. I think I've come to the decision to swap out the saddle and seat post (the suspension in the seat post is annoying) and I'll get new tire when the stock ones wear out. As I mentioned in the OP, my goal is to by a good quality pure road bike for recreational, weekend use.

I would love to, however, if I sell the 7200, which currently is my only bike, I would have to wait some time before I can make up the difference to by a cyclo-cross and in the meantime I would be bike-less. Can't have that! Hindsight being what it is, I would do it differently, but you live and you learn. I'll file this away though for future use.
