The only upgrades worth the money are thinner tires (28 or 32 mm wide), straight bars instead of risers, and bar ends to give alternate hand positions. A rigid fork wont gain you much, unless you have lots of hills to climb. You want your riding position set so you are leaning forward with your weight over the pedals, the adjustable stem could help you achieve this.
