At first I thought this thread was a joke, but as I read on, I guess not. OK, my road bike is recently purchased, left over 06 OCR-C3 Pic here:

With the upgraded tires, stem and seat post it lists for over 2K, but I picked it up for $1500 so I guess I fit the budget minded group. Can I afford a nicer bike? Sure, but it doesn't add to what I value in a bike, so why should I spend it. Do I respect someone because they have a nicer bike like a Madone or a Cervelo? No. Do I respect the young dude on a Schwinn with SORA shifters if he can drop me? Yeah. So to me it's all about the motor, not the package.
