First impression is that compared with campag diagram, chain is way too long - chain on 34T front 12T back. It is virtually touching the jockey wheel on the right, whereas in the diagram it indicates that the chain should be 10-15mm away. Have been loathe to split chain before, but looks like I might have to, and use link - have a KMC Missing Link 10 speed "campag only" link available (and Park CT5 chainsplitter). What do you think? Does your chain set up look similar Tanguy Frame?
I recommend you check the chain length using the big/big method plus one inch I described above, remembering to not run the chain through the rear derailleur when you do. It's pretty much a fool-proof way to size a chain on a derailleur-equipped bike.
I wouldn't mess around with trying to base chain length on the size of a gap between the derailleur and the chain-
