The Tour de Fat, New Belgium Brewing’s family friendly cycling advocacy festival, will be stopping again in Austin on Saturday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fiesta Gardens. Festival goers are strongly encouraged to come by bike. All proceeds will benefit local bike non-profits Austin Yellow Bike Project, Austin Cycling Association and Austin Ridge Riders.

Highlights of this festival not to be missed include the Bike Parade starting at 10 a.m. (parade registration 9- 10 a.m.) The Tour de Fat will also be giving away a utility bike with a trailer to a lucky winner of their Bike Trade contest to the person selected who is willing to trade their car for a bike. Pretty cool, eh?

A few side notes: children are welcome but pets are not and no outside alcohol is allowed. Admission is free.
