I do not think there is any other event quite like this in the country, but the armed forces cycling website would be a good place to start, a second site would be the wounded warriors project although from what I can tell they were not that involved in this particular event. If you can get a hold of the event organizer (through the AFCA website) they may be able to get a hold of some local army cyclists on the west coast so that something may be able to happen on the west coast.

The ride here in VA was great although there were times my old retired Navy fat butt struggled at times, nor was I as fast or fit as the fast guys but I thouroughly enjoyed the ride and it was by far the most satisyfying knowing that the money I raised was going to a very worthy cause.
