True, but this wasn't a production bike. The advertisement (linked somewhere above) states the frame sizes of this model were "to order." From this I conclude the original owner of this bike was too tall for any production bike of the era; this was a custom frame.

I also agree with whoever said a lot of the dirt, especially around the lugs, would come off; but I actually think it looks pretty good like that; the dirt highlights the workmanship and the age of the bike. Some of us like to throw around the term 'patina' as a euphemism for 'totally trashed,' but in this case it seems pretty appropriate to me.

Anything you take off the bike, such as that John Bull tire, that nasty saddle, and even cable housings, should go in a box labeled "Allin." Should someone ever want to put this bike in a museum, they'll be wanted.
